PIPP+ is an extended payment arrangement requiring regulated gas and electric companies to accept payments based on household incomes at or below 150 percent of federal poverty guidelines. Payments are based on a percentage of your monthly income and can be as low as $10 per month in some cases. To enroll a utility on PIPP+, it must be in the name of an adult household member.

Income guidelines for PIPP+

To be income-eligible, a household must have total household income for the last 12 months or 30 days equal to or less than 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines (FPG). Income guidelines representing the 150 percent calculation are revised annually. The period to be used in determining annual income must not be more than 12 months or less than the 30-day period preceding the request for assistance by the household. The following chart displays income levels by household size and should be used to determine eligibility. Income guidelines listed below represent the income limits for 2019-2020 energy assistance programs.
