The Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as HEAP, is a federally funded program designed to assist income-eligible Ohioans with their winter heating bills. It runs from July 1 to June 30.

PIPP is an extended payment arrangement requiring regulated gas and electric companies to accept payments based on household incomes at or below 150 percent federal poverty guidelines.

Summer Crisis Program

This program allows for a one-time payment on the electric utility for eligible households at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guideline. This program runs from July 1 through August 31.

Winter Crisis Program

This program provides financial assistance to low-income households at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines that are threatened with disconnection, have had services disconnected, need to establish new or transfer service, or have less than 25 percent of bulk fuel in their tank. It runs from November 1 through March 31.
