Listening Session

In January, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine called on the Ohio Department of Medicaid to ensure that Ohioans get the best value in quality health care. He called for feedback from individuals receiving Medicaid services, providers and advocates, and emphasized that “their voices are vital to a just and fair managed care program.”

In response, Ohio Medicaid is conducting listening sessions with individuals throughout the state to better understand their lived experiences with health care. You can participate by attending Ohio Medicaid’s listening session at the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County on Oct. 7th at 5 to 7 pm.

7880 Lincole Pl, Lisbon, OH 44432

Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.

Registration will close when we reach 30 participants.

Join Us!

Come on out to our annual Trunk or Treat! The event takes place in the cul de sac in front of our Lisbon buildings rain or shine. ALL AGES are invited to dress up in their favorite costume, get some sweet treats and enjoy a great afternoon! We’ll have snacks for everyone to enjoy. Hope to see you there!

What Is Trunk or Treating?

During the trunk or treat event adults and local organizations pass out goodies from the back of their decorated vehicles for Halloween. Children are able to “trick or treat” from car-to-car in a safe environment. It’s more fun than it sounds, trust me! Sometimes kids come in the hundreds, fully dressed in Halloween costumes and holding out bags or plastic pumpkins for treats.

NOV. 1, 2019 | 10:00 AM to NOON | 1437 W. State St. Salem, OH 44460

The Community Action Agency of Columbiana County (CAACC) and Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) will co-host a Weatherization event.

Join CAACC and COAD in celebrating the Weatherization program. You will learn about CAACC’s weatherization program, ways to save money in your home, see demonstrations, enjoy refreshments, and tour a neighborhood home to experience the effects of these services.

The Weatherization Open House is an opportunity to see the CAACC crew complete whole-house weatherization and highlight the impact of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which saves energy, improves the health and safety of homes, and supports jobs and small businesses.

As the cold weather approaches, most families are turning up their thermostats to combat dropping temperatures. For low-income individuals and families, however, cranking up the heat is not always an option. Those families pay a higher percentage of their annual incomes for energy compared to non-low-income families. Unable to pay big balances or hefty reconnection fees, some individuals are considering how they will survive this winter without heat.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) can help. This program provides permanent solutions to reduce the energy burden on low-income families by using cost-effective, energy-efficient materials services.
